Renewable Energy & Economic Development
Renewable energy and energy efficiency technologies support economic expansion and job creation in local economies in a variety of ways. As markets for these technologies grow, so do the businesses that sell, install and maintain renewable energy and energy efficiency systems. Rapid market growth also drives expansions in manufacturing, which result in the creation of new high-wage jobs for the region hosting these facilities. In addition to manufacturing and installation/maintenance of these technologies, their very use often provides economic advantages by reducing fuel imports, increasing the energy-productivity of business operations, greater use of processing by-products, and by increasing the security and reliability of our energy infrastructure.
