The emerging green economy holds great promise for America’s cities, and especially for our low-income, heavily minority urban communities. Every aspect of clean energy development, from manufacturing to construction to operating and maintenance, can create good jobs, clean up the air and water, and save saving consumers money on their energy bills. Every city and community in the United States has some potential to capitalize on this new economy, whether through good wind or solar resources or through retrofit programs to bring old, dilapidated buildings up to energy efficiency codes.

The Open Directory Project is the largest, most comprehensive human-edited directory of the Web. It is constructed and maintained by a vast, global community of volunteer editors. Instead of fighting the explosive growth of the Internet, the Open Directory provides the means for the Internet to organize itself. As the Internet grows, so do the number of net-citizens. These citizens can each organize a small portion of the web and present it back to the rest of the population, culling out the bad and useless and keeping only the best content.

The Google Web Directory integrates Google's sophisticated search technology with Open Directory pages to create the most useful tool for finding information on the web.

The National Hydrogen Association is a membership organization founded by a group of ten industry, university, research, and small business members in 1989. The American Solar Energy Society (ASES) is the United States section of the International Solar Energy Society. ASES is a nonprofit, 501(c)3 organization dedicated to the development and adoption of renewable energy in all its forms, including: solar, wind, geothermal, hydrogen, ocean, and others.
